Up 162%,
iFabric Corp. (TSX: IFA) is a top performing small cap stock.
To date, 2023 has been a continuation of 2022, whereby it
is very challenging to produce positive investment results as a small and
microcap stock picker in non-resource sectors.
While we are confident our
stock picking methodology remains sound, given the financial performance for
the majority of our Top Ideas that reported during the first six months of
2023, unfortunately, very low valuations and little liquidity continue to
be dominant trends for small and microcap stocks in 2023.
It is this blog’s belief
that the current ultra-low valuations for small and micro-cap stocks will not
continue forever and the investor sentiment will turn positively for this group
of stocks in the short term. However, the short term may still mean
up to 12 months.
We are pleased to
acknowledge that several Investorfile Top Ideas did produce positive
returns to date, namely iFabric (TSX: IFA), Noble Iron (TSXV: NIR.H),
Gatekeeper Systems (TSXV: GSI), Avante (TSXV: XX), Destiny Media Technologies
(TSXV: DSY) and Titan Logix (TSXV: TLA). That said, the share price
performance in 2023 is not all negative for small cap stocks.
A special mention goes to
iFabric Corp (TSX: IFA – C$1.44) which, as of today, is seeing its
shares up 162% in value since Investorfile first recommended the stock as
one of its Top Ideas in just over 6 months. (See: iFabric is
geared up for growth and the stock is value-priced).
